Huawei's vehicle planning surfaced? Alliance targets or Magna

A few days ago, there was news that Huawei was plotting to enter the "car manufacturing" field, or will launch Huawei brand automotive products.

According to industry sources, Huawei may start strategic cooperation with one of the world’s largest auto parts makers and vehicle trader Magna. Magna services include BMW, Dalem, and Jaguar Land Rover. Its product capabilities include interior systems, seat systems, latching systems, metal body and chassis systems, mirror systems, exterior systems, roof systems, electronic systems, powertrain systems design, engineering development, testing and manufacturing, and complete Vehicle design and assembly. Currently, it has 294 factories and 87 engineering R&D and sales centers around the world.

As the customer's future expected production capacity continues to increase, Magna plans to open a new factory. It is worthwhile to point out that last month Magna president Donald Walker revealed at a press conference:

If there is a demand in the Chinese market, they will buy plants directly in China and put them into production or join hands with local automakers to make the entire vehicle.

Given the need for Magna to set up a factory in China, it is not impossible for Huawei to make certain contacts with it.

If Huawei and Magna cooperate with each other, Magna can use Huawei's own resources to expand into the Chinese market. Secondly, smart electric vehicles and self-driving cars have become another outlet for the automotive industry. Behind-the-scenes manufacturing of traditional parts and vehicles, and industrial and commercial development, it is a good thing for Magna to join forces with suitable companies to jointly enter this field and launch their own cars directly involved in production and research and development.

Huawei has also been deploying in the automotive industry. As early as the end of 2013, it began to enter the car network, launched the car module ME909T, and invested hundreds of millions of yuan each year for the development of car networking related solutions. Huawei Terminal Liu Xiaobin said: "Huawei's vision is to become the first leader in the Vehicular Modulation Module and achieve a scale of 5 to 60 billion yuan in performance." In addition, Huawei has in-depth contacts with a number of large vehicle manufacturers. Huawei has successively cooperated with Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Toyota, Volkswagen, Dongfeng Motor, and Changan Automobile in the field of vehicle networking and onboard systems, and has been promoting artificial intelligence and driverless cars. .

Although Huawei earlier claimed that it would not manufacture the entire vehicle, it has to be said that in recent years, Huawei has been very active in the Internet of Things market, and the automobile is undoubtedly a very important part of Huawei's realization of the Internet of Everything. At the same time, its own networked, on-board and other software systems are also at the forefront of the industry, these are the factors that promote Huawei to build a car.
