Loongson Branch: Loongson 3A3000 quad-core processor chip success flow

Previously there was news in the industry that the latest products of domestic chip makers Godson and Feiteng had started to stream at the end of last year, and it is expected to officially complete the tapeout this year. Today, Godson Zhongke officially announced that the Loongson 3A3000 quad-core processor chip has been successfully completed and passed system testing.

In terms of performance, the Loongson 3A2000 introduced last year is a single quad-core desktop version, and the Loongson 3B2000 supports two-way eight-core and four-socket 16-core server versions. Since it is the first version of the new architecture, the manufacturing process is still 40nm, with a frequency of 1GHz.

Loongson’s data shows that the Loongson 3A3000 is based on the Loongson 3A2000 design and has undergone some structural improvements, such as increasing the number of key queue items in the processor core and expanding the on-chip private/shared cache capacity.

As an upgraded version of the Loongson 3A2000, the Loongson 3A3000 adopts a new design process, and its main frequency has been greatly improved, which can exceed 1.5GHz. According to the test results, the SPEC CPU2006 fixed-point and floating-point single-core scores compiled by the Godson 3A3000 GCC exceeds 11 points and 10 points, respectively, at the frequency of 1.5 GHz; the score of the visit is more than 13GBps.

In addition, the Godson 3A2000 maintains the forward compatibility of the chip package pins, which can directly replace the original Loongson 3A1000/3A2000 chip, and upgrade the BIOS and the kernel to obtain a better user experience. At present, the Loongson 3A3000 has started small-scale production, which has been tested to support the formation of multiple servers through the direct connection of the chip called the 3B3000.

Finally, Lei Feng Network (search "Lei Feng Net" public concern) organized Longke generation product release time node:

April 2010: Godson Zhongke Technology Co., Ltd. was established, and the development of the Loongson chip began to be industrialized.

At the beginning of 2011: Loongson 1B chip flow success, this chip continues the advantages of high performance, low energy consumption of Godson processors, to meet the needs of ultra-low-cost cloud terminal, industrial control, data acquisition, network equipment, consumer electronics and other fields.

October 2012: Eight nuclear 32nm Godson 3B1500 tapes were successfully made.

In April 2013: Loongson 1C chip was successfully filmed, which can be used in fingerprint biometrics, object sensing and other fields.

April 2014: Godson introduces the Godson 3B six-core desktop solution. The Loongson 3B six-core chip is a high-performance general-purpose processor configured as a six-core processor. The solution uses a mini-ITX motherboard and has a Gigabit network interface. It also has peripheral interfaces such as PCI/PCLE and SATA.USB. And can be configured hd6700 graphics card and SSD hard drive, etc., with good scalability.

August 2015: Godson's new generation of high-performance processor architecture, the GS464E, was officially released, with the release of 3A2000/3B2000.

October 2016: Godson ZhongKe announced the successful completion of the 3A3000 quad-core processor chip.
