Samsung demonstrates the strongest Soc 8895, VR chip performance evaluation criteria

▼ Samsung demonstrates the strongest Soc 8895, VR chip performance evaluation standards from Baidu VR At the World Mobile Communications Conference held recently, Samsung demonstrated a VR machine that does not require smart phone drivers. The purpose of Samsung is actually to demonstrate the development process of its Exynos 9 chip, and to promote it to other company's VR integrated machine. Previously, the Exynos chip has always been a highly internalized project of Samsung. In addition to Samsung’s own flagship smartphone, only a few external companies such as Meizu have adopted it. Now, Samsung is full of confidence in Exynos 9 and believes this is a time to “go global” and wants Exynos 9 to build the next generation of smart phones and VR headsets. The new high-end chip is called the 8895, has 8 CPU cores, 4 custom cores, 4 Cortex-A53, uses the ARM Mali G71 GPU, and supports 120fps shooting and 4K video playback. In addition, Exynos 9 integrates a vision processor that can perform motion monitoring and head tracking, making it an ideal chip for creating VR heads. As for Samsung's VR all-in-one display at the conference, it is likely that it will only remain in the concept display and will not be put into production.
