"Working Simulation" PSVR version can quickly calibrate user height

Owlchemy Labs has always been committed to making VR as immersive as possible, and recently it has revealed a new and unique way to achieve this goal on the PSVR.

Work Simulation game

As you know, the PSVR tracking system is slightly more primitive than the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, but Owlchemy doesn't want to be in the upcoming host version of the VR game "Job Simulator" ("work simulation") Make a compromise on the starting game. For this matter, the developer wrote a new blog this month, which mentioned a simple and quick method of calibrating the user's height, and PSVR itself does not provide software to measure this data.

Employee Perspective in Work Simulation

Getting the correct height is a crucial part of this VR experience, especially when the user is standing. If there is any obvious difference, it really hurts the experience of the game; in that case, you may feel a bit awkward when walking around, or it is easy to notice that you are taller or shorter than your actual height. To solve this problem, Owlchemy came up with a simple and fast technology that will use Sony's PS Move motion controller.

When the developer correctly measures the user's height, the only thing the user is required to do is to hold the two Move controls, extend the arms to the left and right to the longest position, and pull the trigger of the controller. This will be finished.

How Owlchemy Labs Uses Move to Calibrate Height

So what is the principle of this? Because a person's wingspan is basically equal to his height. This means that the game can measure the distance between two controllers when the user is doing so, and then quickly convert this data into accurate height data. After this, the height measurement is over. Why didn't we think of this at the beginning?

This sounds convenient for many VR games, not just "work simulations." Other developers, even Sony himself, should notice this.

PSVR version of "work simulation" should be listed on the helmet on the release date of October 13. The game will require the Move controller, although the PS VR does not adapt to room-scale tracking. Therefore, you will find that the environment of the game is deliberately arranged to adapt to the status of standing upright. When you play this game, you can still do GIF pictures of "Huge Dogs" that can be widely praised.

Also from that point of view, Owlchemy Labs did indeed stand up to its "Labs" name.
