Survey shows that 26% of respondents plan to buy tablets in the next 90 days. Of the respondents who are interested in purchasing tablets, 80% said they will choose iPad, 8% said they will choose RIM's PlayBook, followed by Samsung Galaxy Tab (3%), HP Slate (2%), and OK. Tablet PC (1%), Dell Streak (1%) and Sony Dash (1%).
Paul Carton, vice president of research at ChangeWave, said that because iPads increase user expectations for tablets, other brands of tablets will need to make considerable efforts to increase market share.
ChangeWave found through survey that 72% of iPad users are "very satisfied" with the iPad, 23% are "very satisfied", 1% "are quite dissatisfied," and 3% are "not sure" whether they are satisfied with the iPad.
The survey also revealed that 6% of respondents plan to purchase desktops within the next 90 days, which is 1 percentage point higher than in August; respondents who plan to purchase notebooks within 90 days still account for 8%. Of the respondents who plan to purchase laptops, 14% said they will buy netbooks, which is 10% lower than June 2009 (the highest proportion of respondents who plan to purchase netbooks).
