Beijing Subway will complete 8 to 100,000 LED lighting renovations in 2015

The Beijing subway department recently revealed that the Beijing Subway will promote energy-saving and consumption-reduction reforms and promote green lighting. According to reports, the subway energy consumption structure includes electricity, natural gas, heat and other different categories, of which the power used by vehicle traction and power lighting accounts for more than 80% of the total energy consumption of the metro. With the increase of operating mileage, the continuous increase of passenger traffic, the continuous shortening of the interval between various lines, and the increase of equipment such as elevators and air conditioners, the rigid energy consumption of subways continues to increase. Energy conservation and consumption reduction have become an important part of the work of the Beijing subway sector.

Since 2005, Beijing Subway has invested 8.5 billion yuan to transform more than 70 equipment systems involved in Metro Line 1 and Line 2 into advanced and energy-saving products. In 2010, the Beijing Subway implemented a pilot project for LED lighting power-saving, replacing a total of nearly 2,000 LED lamps, which saved 156,000 kWh annually. In 2012, the Beijing Subway Operating Company will expand the promotion of LED green lighting, and plans to replace 20,000 LED lamps, which is expected to produce 1.7 million kWh annually.

According to reports, during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Beijing Metro will optimize the train operation diagram, promote the development and application of key technologies such as braking energy regeneration, promote LED green lighting, promote air-conditioning energy-saving technology products, and strictly control the energy consumption of office energy. Realize energy saving and consumption reduction.
