ChargePoint Releases New 2 MW Charging Technology for Use in Vehicles

ChargePoint has released a new 2 MW charging technology that will target electric and semi-automatic trucks, but not for passenger cars. On May 8-9 this year, ChargePoint presented the new 2 MW technology at the 2nd Annual Elevate Summit.

At the company's annual meeting last year, the company announced that it would provide a charging station for Uber's pure electric VTOL taxi service plan. This year the company fulfilled its promise.

The company believes that its highlight is the new charging connector. The company also announced detailed parameters for the 2 MW charging technology that can be used in electric drones and semi-automatic trucks.

ChargePoint's engineering team is dedicated to the core elements of the new R&D design. To meet its performance requirements, up to four battery management system (BMS) interfaces and four 500 amp output circuits are available. The voltage amplitude of each output circuit is between 200 and 1000 volts. In addition, the company also provides a high-speed data transmission regulations. Designed for use in heavy-duty applications, this technology is designed to be rugged and durable, to withstand the wear and tear of frequent use, and to ensure easy insertion and removal of the connector plug.

For easy to insert and remove, ChargePoint said the company is developing a motor system to assist the motorized system.

Uber announced its VTOL aircraft program, saying it will be launched in 2023 as soon as possible to provide users with air taxi services. The company is working to determine the location of the skyports and no need to build a charging station.
