1, the number of lights

Calculate the number of required strips for the project. It should be noted here that the lamp strips can be cut and cut in three groups. Generally, each strip of 60 strips per meter has a length of 50 mm, and each strip of 30 strips per meter has a length of 100 mm. After understanding this, you can calculate the actual number of lights to be used according to the construction effect design. Generally, a spare length of about one meter is reserved, so as to avoid waste of resources caused by excessive procurement.

2, the light with power

Since the power supply is not distributed when the lamp strip is purchased, after calculating the length of the required lamp strip, the power of the required power source is calculated and then matched with the power source. Different lamp strips have different powers, so care should be taken to match the power supply. Here is a list of the power of the lamp strip:

0603 light strip: 12V, 60 per meter, 3.6W per meter

1210 light strip: 12V, 60 per meter, 4.8W per meter

5050 light strip: 12V, 30 per meter, 7.2W per meter

5050 light strip: 12V, 60 per meter, 14.4W per meter

For example, if you buy a 5050 lamp strip and the matching power supply is 12V, 4A, then one power supply can only carry 6m 5050 strips. Because the power of the 5050 lamp belt is 7.2W per meter, the total power of 6 meters is 43.2W, and the rated power of the power supply is 48W. It is generally not recommended to use the power supply at full load, because that has a great impact on the life of the power supply. It is recommended to use only the power supply. 95%. If you need 100 meters, the corresponding 4A power supply needs to be equipped with a minimum of 16.

3, light belt controller

For RGB strips, it is necessary to have a controller to have an effect, and a controller can control the length of the strip from 5 meters to 20 meters, mainly depending on which type of controller is selected. In this way, after purchasing the RGB strip, it is also necessary to additionally purchase the number of controllers according to the control length of the controller, or to purchase an additional RGB amplifier (each amplifier can be extended by 5 meters). Don't be fooled into thinking that a controller can achieve the control requirements of all RGB strips, which is a wrong view.

For example, the 100-meter RGB strip is purchased, and the controller uses a conventional controller, that is, the control range of each controller is 5 meters. Then a 100-meter RGB strip requires 20 RGB controllers, or an RGB controller and 19 additional amplifiers.
