SparkFun and Cypress's wireless IoT development platform is available through Digi

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota, USA –CypressSemiconductor Corp., SparkFun and global electronic component distributor Digi-Key have teamed up to launch an IoT development platform. Through this platform, creators and engineers can quickly and easily prototype "Sensor to cloud" solutions. To enable more dynamic and flexible IoT development, SparkFun created an expansion board that simplifies system design with a Cypress PSoC® 6 microcontroller (MCU) designed for the Internet of Things. You can find the platform and related components on Digi-Key and SparkFun.

“Our partners are committed to streamlining and improving the prototyping process to ensure that Maker and engineers have all the tools they need for IoT development,” said Glenn Samala, CEO of SparkFun Electronics. “Designers can use Pioneer IoT Add-on Shield And its complete documentation and resources quickly put its projects into practice."

Engineers can now incorporate a variety of wireless connectivity options and SparkFun Qwiic sensor systems for prototyping with PSoC 6 MCUs. The wireless sensor network is flexible enough to use any sensor or any wireless protocol and is scalable, forward-looking and affordable.

“Pioneer IoT Add-On Shield provides designers with an interesting and fast prototyping approach and a flexible PSoC 6 MCU architecture with ultra-low power consumption,” said Jim Davis, Marketing Director, MCU Business Unit, Cypress. “We It's great to have a long-term relationship with Digi-Key and SparkFun, providing you with all the resources you need to get your hands on sensor-to-cloud prototyping: quick access to hardware, complete documentation and project examples via digikey.com, and sparkfun.com Video and code on the screen to help you win."

To get designers to get started quickly, SparkFun and Cypress detail some project examples in the Connectivity Guide.

“SparkFun is a very important partner for Digi-Key, and it is designed to make it easier and faster for everyone to access embedded electronic components,” said David Stein, vice president of global supplier management at Digi-Key. “We are very excited to be with SparkFun and Cypress work together to make it easy and fast to get started with PSoC 6, one of the lowest power, high performance, flexible and secure IoT solutions available today."
