According to the report, Samsung Gear VR sales were estimated at 4.5 million units last year, and Sony PlayStaTIon VR ranked second with sales of “approx. 1 million unitsâ€. This means that the combined sales of Oculus, Google and HTC's virtual reality heads are about 1 million units. The report shows that HTC's Vive sales are "over 400,000 units", surpassing Facebook's Rift.
The report also stated that "Oculus shows a strong interest in games and social applications, so the popularity among consumers is more important for Rift. HTC Vive is more popular with enterprise developers."
Samsung is the only company to disclose the sales of virtual reality heads, saying that Gear VR has a cumulative sales of 5 million units.
