Agricultural Robot: A New Aspect in the Development of Modern Agriculture

Over the years, Professor Li Wei has been engaged in computer vision detection and automatic control research, and has undertaken a large number of topics and accumulated relevant technologies in microscopic vision, image acquisition and analysis, and sequence image tracking. She has undertaken 8 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, published nearly 30 academic papers, and reported 6 related patent technologies. 2 national software knowledge copyrights in computer vision inspection. A number of scientific research achievements have reached the international advanced level.

In teaching, Professor Li Wei teaches mechanical engineering engineering in one of the two quality courses. At the same time, Professor Li Wei's teaching team is also a national-level teaching team, and she was named a Beijing teaching teacher. At present, Professor Li Wei is mainly engaged in computer vision detection technology, biological robot development, fruit automatic sorting technology based on machine vision , fruit tree picking robot technology , modern agricultural robot automatic target recognition and navigation technology research. Professor Li Wei presided over the construction of the "Computer Vision Testing Laboratory" with various types of computer testing and analysis software and hardware equipment, as well as fruit, seed, biological cell testing test bench.

When talking about scientific research results, Professor Li Wei is not willing to talk about himself, but always puts the agricultural robot laboratory research and development team in his mouth. According to Professor Li Wei, the Agricultural Robot Laboratory of China Agricultural University is affiliated to the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education of Modern Agricultural Equipment and Facilities. There are 6 teachers in the laboratory, including 4 professors and 4 doctoral supervisors. There are more than 60 graduate students, including more than 20 doctoral students. The laboratory has a complete set of intelligent agricultural equipment experimental equipment and instruments, built an agricultural robot integration test platform, and built an off-campus agricultural robot research base. It has formed a talent training and scientific research base integrating robot basic theory, intelligent control and computer vision perception.

“The laboratory has long been engaged in the research of intelligent agricultural equipment, agricultural robots and computer vision inspection technology. We hosted and participated in more than 20 scientific research projects such as the national '863' plan, the science and technology support plan, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the University Doctoral Fund. A lot of scientific research work has been done on crop information acquisition, agricultural robot intelligent perception, agricultural equipment detection technology, etc. More than 100 academic papers have been published, more than 60 scientific papers have been indexed, and more than 20 patent technologies have been filed." Li Wei said.

After years of technical accumulation and precipitation, the current research and development results in the laboratory not only have high-profile cucumber picking robots, but also agricultural intelligent agricultural robot platforms, intelligent field scribble robots, facility agriculture intelligent spray robots, corn haploid grain concentrates. Selecting agricultural systems and intelligent equipment such as automation systems, fruit and vegetable sorting automation systems, and many technologies have reached international advanced level and domestic leading level.

Talking about the future work, Professor Li Wei said: "During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, we will work hard to implement the spirit of the National Medium- and Long-Term Plan for Science and Technology Development, and commit ourselves to the high-tech R&D and innovation of modern agricultural equipment.
