ON Semiconductor, a leader in energy-efficient innovation, has launched a new 43-megapixel (MP) charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensor with a 35 mm optical format, designed for high-resolution industrial imaging applications that demand extended performance. The KAI-43140 is perfectly suited for applications requiring ultra-high resolution and consistent image quality, such as inspecting HD and UHD flat panel displays or capturing detailed aerial images for line termination detection.

The KAI-43140 features a new 4.5 µm Interline Transfer CCD (ITCCD) pixel that delivers 50% better resolution compared to the previous 5.5 µm design, without compromising on critical imaging performance. It includes a true "global" shutter that supports full-resolution frame rates up to 4 fps using a flexible 1, 2, or 4 output read architecture. The package and pin layout are identical to the popular 29 MP KAI-29050 and KAI-29052 sensors, making it easy to integrate into existing camera designs and accelerating time-to-market while ensuring compatibility with current systems.
The KAI-43140 provides exceptional resolution, image quality, and uniformity across a wide range of exposure times, which is essential for flat panel inspection where resolution requirements vary depending on the display. As display technology continues to evolve, the need for higher resolution increases. This new sensor also benefits surveillance and aerial imaging systems by enabling more detailed image capture from higher altitudes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Herb Erhardt, Vice President and General Manager of ON Semiconductor's Industrial Solutions Division, stated, "Currently, only CCD technology can meet the stringent image uniformity demands of many industrial imaging applications. At the same time, continuous pixel development is necessary to achieve higher resolution. The KAI-43140 allows camera manufacturers and end users to push the boundaries of high-resolution imaging without sacrificing image quality."
ON Semiconductor now offers an engineering-grade version of the KAI-43140, expected to be released in the third quarter of this year. The sensor is available in a ceramic PGA package and comes in monochrome, Bayer color, and Sparse Color configurations.
To support customers in developing new cameras incorporating the KAI-43140 and other ON Semiconductor image sensors, the company provides comprehensive evaluation suites. These include still and video capture, ROI reading, and pixel addition, along with customizable test features. Customers can reach out to their local ON Semiconductor sales representative to request an evaluation kit or schedule a live demonstration of the KAI-43140.

Linear Power Supplies
LVLP series Linear Power Supplies are DC Power Supplies that achieve AC/DC conversion through power frequency transformers and transistor loop control. Compared with switching DC power supplies, linear mode power supplies have higher stability, higher accuracy, and lower output ripple. And the most important, because of the use of the power frequency AC/DC conversion principle, the linear power supply does not have high-frequency radiation interference, and is especially suitable for use in places with restrictions on EMC and EMI.
The LVLP series linear AC - DC power supplies have a wide range of output specifications, the output power ranges from 1KW to 400KW, and the output voltage can reach up to 800VDC, and accept customization.

The whole series DC linear power supply adopts industrial-grade metal chassis, pure copper AC/DC varnished transformer, high-reliability multi-transistor filter loop, ensuring the power supplies can run for a long time at full load with high stability, high accuracy, and ultra-low ripple electronic characteristics, equipped with a complete protection circuit, which can better ensure the reliability of the linear power supply itself and the safety of the customer's load.
The output voltage and current can be adjusted by the 10-turn potentiometer with scale and lock on the front, equipped with 4 1/2-digit high-resolution LED meters for output value reading, and RS communication interface can also be added for remote control and monitoring of linear power supplies.
This series of linear power supplies are mainly used for aging and testing of components such as capacitors, relays, and resistors, and can also be used for experimental testing of electronic components such as thermistors and motors. At present, many well-known capacitor manufacturers, resistor factories and other electronic component production units and scientific colleges and universities and other research and development units use this series of power supplies, and they have all been highly praised.
