Three basic laws of the Internet of Things

Recently, NB-IOT technology is hot in the field of Internet of Things. Some market participants believe that this technology has driven the hype market of the Internet of Things. I don't think so. NB-IOT, the cellular-based Narrow Band Internet of Things. NB-IoT is an emerging technology in the IoT space that supports low-power devices in the WAN cellular data connection, also known as low-power wide area network (LPWA). In May 2014, Huawei proposed narrowband technology NB M2M; in May 2015, NB OFDMA was formed to form NB-CIOT; in July, NB-LTE and NB-CIOT were further integrated to form NB-IOT; NB-IOT standard is expected to be 3GPP R13 appeared and was frozen in March 2016. 3GPP is a communication technology alliance organization, mainly to develop a third-generation technical specification based on the GSM core network, UTRA (FDD is W-CDMA technology, TDD is TD-CDMA technology) as the wireless interface.

It can be seen that NB-IOT is a technical strategy for traditional communication equipment vendors and operators to enter the Internet of Things. It is not the whole or the whole of the Internet of Things.

To study the Internet of Things, we must understand the most basic rules. I think the three laws of the Internet of Things are as follows:

The first law: the law of diversity and uniqueness. The Internet of Things is the Internet of Everything. Each type of object has different requirements for the Internet of Things according to its own characteristics and functions. Therefore, IoT technology is definitely diverse, and it is unique according to the specific functional network needs. The second law: the law of capacity. The network value is proportional to the number of nodes and the amount of information. This law is derived from the Internet and also applies to the Internet of Things. In the process of IoT information interaction, its value (the value of information, the value of the device that transmits information) is highly proportional to the amount of information. The third law: the law of value. The Internet of Things is not networked for networking. This is an important factor driving IoT operators and all parties to invest.
