Zhuo Tongmin: Foxconn shocked the lighting industry in 2008 (Figure)


In recent years, the capacity of the domestic lighting market has increased dramatically with the development of large-scale projects such as the Olympic Games, the World Expo, the Asian Games, and the Universiade, as well as the infrastructure construction caused by the steady and rapid development of China's economy. Taiwan-funded enterprises frequently have large movements in the domestic market, hoping to get a cup of beauty in the domestic market.

The 13th Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition attracted 1539 lighting companies from 21 countries around the world, including many Taiwan-funded enterprises eager to enter the mainland market. At this exhibition, Taiwan-funded enterprises represented by Foxconn Technology Group, Shida and Yiguang Optoelectronics made their debut at the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, which attracted the attention of the participating audience.

On June 10th, Aladdin Lighting Network visited Mr. Zhuo Tongmin, Marketing Director of Foxconn LED Lighting Division (hereinafter referred to as Zhuo Zong), and communicated with Foxconn products and domestic market development plans.

Aladdin Lighting Network: Hello Zhuo, we are the official website of Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition Aladdin Lighting Network. Is there any gain in Foxconn’s first exhibition this year?

Zhuo Zong: I think Foxconn's participation this year has brought a big shock to the lighting industry. We are using LED products to integrate with the lighting industry. From the process of this exhibition, the effect of these two or three days, whether it is the actual harvest, including the promotion of the brand, and the affirmation of Foxconn products by domestic and foreign guests, I think this is obvious to all and is Very positive. Although it is the first time to participate in the lighting exhibition, I think it is very positive for the promotion and brand image of Foxconn's future lighting products in the industry.

Aladdin Lighting Network: I would like to ask if the next exhibition Foxconn will come over?

Zhuo Zong: I think this is the whole group's planning. Of course, this product is so successful. I don't think I will participate in a series of exhibitions. The follow-up will be launched.

Aladdin Lighting Network: When did Foxconn begin to enter the lighting industry, and why should we choose the lighting industry?

Zhuo Zong: In fact, Foxconn has been dominated by the IT industry for the past 20 or 30 years. That (into the lighting industry) its industry can be said to be a fate. Before we intervened in the LED semiconductor lighting industry, we observed LED products for three years. It was not until the second half of 2007 that it was introduced (LED industry). So far, this product is mainly based on outdoor lighting. In the future, we will not rule out starting from other industries.

Aladdin Lighting Network: Did Foxconn arrange some new products at this exhibition?

Zhuo Zong: Yes, in fact, the entire exhibition contains all the outdoor applications (products), from tunnels, bridges, roads and even to lawns, courtyards, sidewalks. Not only have the products in the market, but we also exhibited a number of conceptual products. I want to come here from various customers at home and abroad. After I have learned about our products, I have given a very positive affirmation.

Aladdin Lighting Network: What kind of plans and measures does Foxconn have for the domestic market?

Zhuo Zong: At present, Foxconn is in the promotion stage of LED products. There are some established problems in China, and the established policies of the energy-saving and emission-reduction government. This part will be promoted in conjunction with the government's policies. This is certain. Foreign countries do not rule out global problems. In combination with this lighting exhibition, through contact with more domestic and foreign customers, to understand the domestic and international demand for this industry, there is a more direct and further understanding, followed by products Accelerated by development. Then I think the process of this promotion period will follow the big step forward.

Aladdin Lighting Network: That combined with the Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake that occurred on May 12, Foxconn announced the donation of RMB 60 million in the first time. What do you think about this matter?

Zhuo Zong: Actually, I feel quite touching, and I feel the truth. Whether it is the 921 earthquake in Taiwan or the 512 earthquake in Sichuan, I personally participated. I think from the perspective of the group, this is a social responsibility and an orderly responsibility. Not only the group itself, but everyone I want to experience it as long as I have personally experienced it or I have seen it. I think everyone is rich and powerful. I believe that such activities are not temporary but an orderly one, until the entire Sichuan can return to normal life. Every employee of Foxconn has been paying attention to the entire project from this activity. We have also done our part to let the earthquake (the consequences) calm down as soon as possible and everyone will return to normal life.
