British Greggs bakery uses LED lighting to create a new lighting concept (Figure)

Greggs is a leading bakery retailer in the UK and is considered to be the first retailer in Europe to fully adopt LED light sources. Its lighting design and products are provided by Philips Lighting, in Bromley, Kent. Create a new lighting concept. Compared to shops using traditional lighting, bakeries with new lighting fixtures are expected to achieve 50% energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions by two tons per year. These LED devices have low heat output, which also reduces the need to use air conditioners, enabling more energy savings in the summer.
The bakery features recessed ceiling lighting, spotlight lighting and recessed lighting. All luminaires use LED replacement lamps, which, compared to other fluorescent or CDM lamps, can reduce electrical loads beyond 1.5 kW.
The ambient lighting uses a 19W fixed lighting unit provided by LuxSpace and a built-in downlight with a color temperature of 3000K. The accent lighting and artistic lighting use an 11W fixture and a dimmable spotlight with a beam angle of 20 degrees (color temperature: 2700K). The recessed light illumination system with a color temperature of 3000K can meet the high level of lighting requirements. According to the different needs of each position, the lighting fixtures with different powers of 4.5W, 10W and 20W can be selected.
In addition to the energy-saving advantages of LEDs, Greggs will also benefit from reduced maintenance costs due to the long life of LED light sources. On the other hand, since the luminaires comply with the WEEE (Retired Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive, there will be no discharge lamps to be processed.
