Lynk Labs receives second patent for AC LED technology

Lynk Labs, a leading supplier of AC LED devices, optical engines and power technology, is the company's second patent, which was awarded by the Mexican Patent Office under the patent number 269561. The name is "AC light emitting diode and AC LED drive methods and apparatus."

This AC LED technology patent covers equipment, optical engines, electronic power transformers and AC LED lighting systems. AC LED devices include high voltage and low voltage, as well as high frequency and low frequency AC power supplies using a variety of drive methods.

The patented drive method depends on AC LED equipment or optical engine applications, including high voltage or low voltage of 50/60 Hz, and high frequency (1000 Hz or higher) power supplies, including those that have been used for lighting for ten years. Electronic power transformer (usually working in the range of 20-50 kHz).

The patent also includes capacitive current control (referred to as C3LED technology by Lynk) driving method that uses an intrinsic capacitive LED or packaged LED to resonantly drive the AC LED.

Lynk said that by adjusting the BriteDriver AC LED power supply to match a particular LED or light engine RLC component, this approach may maximize the performance of the LED lighting system. This LED lighting system performance can be as high as 98%.

The same patent is pending and will soon be licensed in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Patent Office (EPO), Hong Kong, India and Mexico.

Lynk Labs' AC LED technology is currently incorporating AC LED technology into its applications through a number of OEMs in a variety of markets. (Source: China Semiconductor Lighting Network )
