The national standard implements one year of "sterilization" washing machine still rubbing the ball

In September last year, the "Special Requirements for Refrigerators for Antimicrobial, Germicidal, and Purifying Functions for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" was formally implemented. However, one year after the implementation of the national standard, a reporter investigation revealed that most washing machines claiming the function of “sterilization” do not have relevant marks.

"This washing machine has nano-antibacterial and silver ion sterilization function, can destroy the ability of bacteria proliferation in a short period of time, so that bacteria can die, so as to achieve the sterilization effect." A washing machine salesman told reporters. However, when a reporter asked whether there was a label related to the sterilization product specified in the national standard, many salesmen said that they did not. The reporter then visited several home appliance stores in the city and discovered that most “sterilized” washing machines could not produce relevant test reports and signs.

According to industry sources, “high-temperature heat sterilization”, “photovoltaic silver removal”, “nano-bacterial”, and even products called “100% increase in bactericidal effect”, “99.99% antibacterial effect” and so on are actually gimmicks. Because the national standard requires a high rate of sterilization, some non-compliance products do not pass the test of “examination and confirmation,” but they still design the corresponding “sterilization” function and wipe the ball.
