The U.S. will phase out incandescent lamps and introduce new energy-saving standards for light bulbs this year

According to the report of CCTV, according to the 2007 U.S. Energy and Safety Act, this year, the United States will gradually eliminate 100W incandescent lamps, allowing stores to sell light bulbs to warehouses for emptying, but production and imports are banned.

According to the provisions of the bill, the United States will implement new energy-saving standards for light bulbs and phase out traditional incandescent light bulbs that do not meet energy efficiency standards in three steps. From this year, the United States will phase out 100 W incandescent light bulbs and save energy by 25 to 30 percent. To replace incandescent lamps, in 2013, the United States will also eliminate 75W incandescent lamps, while 60W and 40W will be banned in 2014. However, incandescent lamps with special functions, such as yellow light bulbs and aquarium light fixtures used for safety warnings, are not eliminated.

The U.S. Federal Business Council also stipulates that in the future, new production and all packaging imported into the United States must have external labels bearing brightness, life, color, and appearance. Shops may not sell 100W incandescent lamps with low luminous efficiency; in 2013, they would eliminate 75W inefficient incandescent lamps; in 2014, 40W and 60W inefficient incandescent lamps would be eliminated.
