Molex, a global leader in complete interconnect solutions, has been driving the evolution of high-bandwidth communication systems. With expertise spanning mobile networks, optical transport, and connected infrastructure, Molex continues to support the growing demands of the telecommunications industry.
Fischer Huang, Global Product Marketing Manager at Molex, highlighted the significance of the Chinese telecom market: "As the world's largest telecom market, China is focusing on advanced equipment as part of its 12th Five-Year Plan. Molex’s long-standing experience in signal and power integrity makes it well-positioned to support the development of next-generation communication infrastructure."
In optics, Molex is showcasing its zQSFP+™ interconnect product—the first QSFP-based solution to achieve data rates above 100Gbps. With a channel rate of up to 25.78Gbps, this technology enables 100Gb/s Ethernet and InfiniBand applications over distances of up to 4km. It delivers excellent cooling performance, unmatched signal integrity, EMI protection, and low power consumption.
Globally, optical network expansion is accelerating, with time-to-market becoming a critical factor. To meet this demand, Molex introduced the Optical Fast Conversion Series Quick-Turn Line (QTL), offering fast delivery of custom-length cable assemblies. This strategy helps reduce lead times for small to medium orders, enabling faster infrastructure deployment and quicker revenue generation.
Molex QTL cable assemblies are available in custom lengths up to 100 meters, providing design flexibility for data centers, switches, routers, and servers. Additionally, the iPass+â„¢ zHD vertical connector system offers a 0.75mm pitch solution suitable for mid-tier applications, supporting SAS-3 and upcoming SAS-4 standards. It provides secure connectivity, up to 96Gbps data rates, and improved airflow and board space efficiency.
The SpeedStackâ„¢ mezzanine connector system supports data rates up to 40Gbps per differential pair and is ideal for OEMs needing compact, high-performance solutions across various industries. The EXTreme Guardianâ„¢ system, formerly known as the EXTreme Powerâ„¢ Interconnect (EPIC), delivers reliable power connections with up to 80A per contact, featuring EMI shielding, hot-plug capability, and UL safety compliance.
For high-current applications, the EXTreme Energeticâ„¢ connector system offers up to 100A per column, with flexible configurations including right-angle and vertical sockets. The GbX I-Tracâ„¢ backplane connector system ensures optimal router performance by minimizing crosstalk and improving impedance control, achieving data rates up to 12.5Gbps.
Molex also provides MicroTCA solutions for cellular base stations, offering a scalable and cost-effective platform for data rates up to 10Gbps. Built on the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA), MicroTCA supports high-speed serial signaling, redundancy, and high availability.
Fischer Huang concluded: "The telecom industry is evolving rapidly, driven by dense multitasking, massive data, and the demand for high-definition content. Molex remains committed to delivering the innovative connectors that customers need to stay ahead."
